Seperti biasa, kritik sosial dari lagu Bangtan itu selalu ngena. Gue selalu merinding tiap pertama kali baca translate lagu-lagu Bangtan, hwhw. Jadi isi lagu "NO" ini gimana sih? Kurang lebih begini:

Semua orang khususnya pelajar menjalani kehidupan yang sama. Sekolah, rumah, kafe internet, gitu terus sampe kiamat(?) Baik secara langsung ataupun tidak langsung kita mendapat tekanan untuk bisa menjadi nomor satu. Kita menjalani hidup layaknya mesin/robot yang selalu tunduk. Sadar ga sadar kita ini bagaikan dijebak. Tidak punya pilihan lain selain setuju dan mengatakan ya untuk menjadi nomor satu kalau tidak ingin tamat. Semua orang ingin kebebasan. Dikekang itu ga enak. Tapi para orang dewasa itu mengatakan bahwa kehidupan kita cukup mudah. Mereka mengatakan bahwa kita lebih bahagia dari porsi kita. Lalu siapa yang bisa menjelaskan ketidakbahagiaan saya? Belajar belajar dan belajar. Masih banyak anak lain yang seperti saya di luar sana. Menjalani hidup layaknya boneka. Siapa yang bertanggung jawab untuk ini? Lagipula, menjadi nomor satu, rumah bagus, mobil bagus, harta benda lainnya, akankah membawa kebahagiaan? Dengan kita menjadi nomor satu akankah orang tua kita benar-benar bahagia? Mereka juga mengatakan kalau kesulitan ini hanya sesaat jadi bersabarlah sedikit lagi sampai tiba saatnya nanti. But, everybody say NO!!! Ga ada kata nanti. Kita ga boleh terus terjebak dalam mimpi orang lain. Just say NO! Sekarang atau ga sama sekali!

"Kita ga harus menjadi nomor satu untuk dapat kebahagiaan. Sesulit apapun hidup ini jika kita menjalaninya karena atau berdasarkan keinginan dari dalam diri kita sendiri maka semua akan terasa lebih mudah. Bahkan walaupun tidak mudah kita tetap menerimanya dengan lapang dada karena itu adalah jalan yang dipilih oleh kita sendiri. Jadi, hiduplah dengan mengikuti apa kata hatimu. Jangan pernah melakukan hal yang bertentangan dengan keinginanmu. Tapi bagaimanapun juga kita tidak hidup sendiri, maka jangan terlarut dalam ego. Tetaplah dengarkan kata orang lain jika itu memang membangun."
